I have been trying to minimize the amount of toys in our house and only invest in pieces that I know my daughter will enjoy for more than a couple of days. We have a lot of these wooden toys from Crate&kids and the others are either in my cart right now or on our wish list.

Alba plays with her Hape kitchen non stop and in my opinion it’s probably one of the best investments one can make for their child. I can see her playing with it for years to come.

Update: It looks like this exact same kitchen isn’t available from C&K anymore but I did find it here. C&K has a couple of different alternatives this year: GOURMENT PLAY KITCHEN SET or this JANOD COOKER REVERSO which is actually a double-sided piece with kitchen on one side and a pantry/washing machine on the reverse. Now, that’s adorable!

She also loves the wooden blocks and has played with them since she was a baby. Now that she’s older she recognizes the letters and animals on the blocks and is always happy to show and point them all out to me.

The stacking rings have also been a favorite of hers since she could sit up and she still loves to play with them now at three years old. The alphabet puzzle almost never gets put away and is small enough to take on trips to keep them busy on a plane or in the car. It is a great way for toddlers to learn and practice their abcs as well as learn shapes and colors.

The Wooden Toy Workbench is something that’s been on my list for a while. I am adding it to the cart right now. One of our friends actually has something similar and Alba was glued to it when we went to a birthday party at their house.

Crate&kids is having their Black Friday sale and the prices have never been better. If you are looking Christmas gifts for your toddler now is the time to buy them something that they’ll actually play with and learn at the same time. Also, all of these toys are beautiful and will look great in your home without being a complete eye sore.
