My baby is one!! This little human that made me a mother has been on this earth for a whole year. And when you are a photographer and have a little baby girl, you have to go all out and have a cake smash session in her bedroom. Yes, I shot these in Alba’s bedroom. I must say I was a little worried about her not being into it or having a complete meltdown because she’s a little ball of fire. She doesn’t normally sit still for me for photos and every time I bring out my camera she looks the other way. But as you can see she was very happy and very much enjoyed the cake. My mom (and photographer) heart is full!
I used pink seamless paper for the background for this setup and I hung pieces of white tulle over it. I didn’t have space to use backdrop stands so I used push pins to secure the paper and tulle to the wall. The little snowflakes are from Hobby Lobby. I threw some confetti on the bottom part to give it a little texture. It looked great but I think I’ll keep finding confetti in my house for months. So, use with caution!
The cake is from an amazing local baker and she made it sugar free for Alba. We had the same cake for her birthday party along with some delicious unicorn macaroons and custom made cookies.
This adorable pink tutu and pink and gold birthday crown both came from Amazon. I’m known for my procrastination skills so Amazon Prime always comes in handy when shopping last minute.
